Alex Bugnon and Jeff Lorber put on a nice show so my sources tell me in Suffolk. Its a part of the Suffolk Riverfront Jazz Series. When I find you more I'll tell you more. I'm not quite in the deep loop with this one yet. The Hampton Jazz Festival takes place June 22md, 23rd & 24th at the Hampton Coliseum. It s a great show this year and the 1st year since I can remember that Frankie Beverly will not be here. The Jazz Summer Soulstice takes place the week before, June 15th, 16th and 17th. Now this a real REAL Jazz Festival with 3 days of events at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott. In Richmond the lineup is about to be announced for the Richmond Jazz Festival. Speaking of Richmond, if you're ever there on a Thursday, check out The Hippodrome for live jazz and social networking for the over 30 crowd. As far as Live Jazz in an intimate atmosphere with great food is concerned, each Wednesday 88.1 WHOV presents "Wine Down Wednesday" takes place from 5-8pm with live music from Saxophonist Rick Elliot. A great way to end the day after work. Remember to bring your business cards. Last but now least the legendary Lonnie Liston Smith performs this Friday Night in Ogden Hall on the campus of Hampton University at 7pm Don't miss this living legend in concert.
